The widespread and ongoing transmission of COVID-19 has affected us globally. Countries such as Peru have implemented mandatory quarantines putting a financial strain on many families. The communities we serve are located in rural areas with limited access to adequate resources. Unfortunately, many of the families in the community of Alto Trujillo, where our projects are implemented, were severely affected. Families have not received any support from the government, including monetary or essential needs like others. With local school teachers’ help, we identified these families and carried on a campaign to collect funds to assist them. We provided 32 families with care packages, including water, nonperishable foods, and hygiene products. Our local volunteers in Peru delivered the donations following all safety precautions, keeping them, and the community safe.
We want to thank our donors and volunteers for helping us during these devastating times. Thank you!
